Website for hair salons and barbers: cost and what it adds

A hair salon or barbershop that already takes appointments through a booking tool can start with step 01, a single-page landing at EUR 600 to 900, or step 02, a mini-site at EUR 900 to 1.500, with every booking button opening the tool you already use. Several locations, a larger team or the booking tool embedded in your own pages puts it at step 03 at EUR 1.500 to 3.500, and deposits taken on your own site at booking, or gift cards and products sold on the site, make it step 04 at EUR 3.500 to 7.500.

What the booking tool leaves to the site

A booking tool is built to fill a calendar. It holds your services, durations, staff and open slots, and if it has its own booking page, a client who already knows they want you can book without a website. For the booking itself that is enough, and a site should not rebuild it.

The tool is not built for the decision before the booking. Someone new is choosing between salons, and weighs the kind of hair you cut, what it costs, who would do it and whether you are nearby. That is what they read before pressing book, and it is where a salon wins or loses a new client.

What a salon site needs to carry

The work, sorted the way people book it

Photos of real cuts, colour and styling are evidence a sentence cannot give. Group them by what someone comes in for, such as short cuts, colour, curls or beard work, so a reader finds hair like theirs. Stock photos of someone else's haircut make the opposite point. Get a client's permission before a photo of them goes online.

Prices you can stand behind

A service menu with prices, or a "from" price where length and thickness change the time needed, lets a reader rule themselves in before booking. If senior stylists charge more than juniors, say so and say why.

The people

A new client is choosing who holds the scissors, not only which door to walk through. A short profile per stylist or barber with their specialisms and their own work lets a reader pick someone.

Services that should not be booked blind

Colour corrections, extensions and bridal hair depend on the hair in front of you, so a fixed slot can be the wrong length and the wrong price. For those, a consultation request with room for a photo of the current hair works better than a booking button. If you require a patch test before colour, explain it before anyone books.

The practical page

Address, opening hours, how to find the door, how to cancel or move an appointment, and whether you take walk-ins and when. For a barbershop that runs on walk-ins, this page matters more than the booking link.

What moves the quote

Which step fits which salon

The full ladder is on the packages page. For a salon or barbershop it maps like this.

Process and timeline

  1. Scoping. Which services, people and locations get pages, how booking connects and where consultation requests go. A fixed quote follows.
  2. Photos and text. The work, the space, prices, profiles and policies. This is the part that waits on you, so start collecting photos early.
  3. Design. Layout, gallery and the path from first look to booking, treated as one job under design and engineering.
  4. Build. Pages, CMS, forms and the booking connection.
  5. Testing. Every booking button and form tried on a phone and a desktop.
  6. Launch and handover. Your team gets CMS access to change prices, photos and profiles.

Step 01 runs 1 to 2 weeks, step 02 runs 2 to 3 weeks, step 03 runs 3 to 6 weeks and step 04 runs 6 to 12 weeks. Where yours lands depends on when the photos and text arrive.

Ownership, care and search

You own the code, the repository and the database. We can host the site too, and that is agreed per project. Care at EUR 100 to 300 per month covers updates, monitoring, backups and small fixes, not a redesign or new features.

SEO foundation is a one-off EUR 450 to 750 for Search Console, analytics, indexation, technical hygiene, titles, internal links and a 3 to 6 month plan. SEO growth at EUR 500 to 800 per month carries that plan out, including service and location pages, which earn their place if people look for a salon or barber by neighbourhood. Local SEO for Dutch businesses covers how that works.

When to spend less

If your chairs are full from regulars and recommendations, the site is where a recommended friend checks you before booking. A step 01 page with the work, the prices, the hours and a booking button does that job.

Spend less, too, if the photos do not exist. A gallery-led step 03 site launched with a handful of pictures looks emptier than a single page that is complete.

And do not replace a booking tool that works with a custom system. Step 05 is for a salon group whose way of working no tool fits.

Questions about a salon website

Can the booking tool's own page replace a website?

For clients who already know you, it can. It is built to take a booking, not to show a stranger why your salon is the right one. A site in front of it carries the work, the prices and the team, then hands over at the moment of booking.

Can clients pay a deposit when they book on our site?

Yes, and that is step 04 at EUR 3.500 to 7.500, because the site then takes payment. If deposits are taken inside your booking tool rather than on your site, a booking button keeps the site at a lower step.

Our work is all on Instagram. Why show it on the site as well?

On your profile, the work sits among everything else you have posted. On the site you choose the best examples, group them by service and put the price and the stylist next to each one.

We have two locations. Is that one site or two?

One site with a page per location, each with its own address, hours, team and booking button. With service and team pages beside them, it sits at step 03.

Tell us your services, your team and the booking tool you use, and we will scope it and quote a fixed price. Start here.
