Web design for Rotterdam businesses, with the prices on the page
A website for a Rotterdam business costs EUR 600-900 at JP Studio if one landing page does the job, EUR 1.500-3.500 for a business website with 4-7 pages and a CMS, and from EUR 7.500 for a custom platform. We work from Amsterdam, so this page covers what those numbers include, what moves them, and what hiring a studio outside Rotterdam changes in practice.
The five steps and what each one costs
The range shows where your project is likely to land before we speak. The fixed quote comes after scoping, once pages, features and integrations are written down.
| Step | Price | What is included | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 Single-page landing | EUR 600-900 | 1 page, form, analytics, responsive | 1-2 weeks |
| 02 Mini-site | EUR 900-1.500 | 2-3 pages, contact flow, basic CMS | 2-3 weeks |
| 03 Business website | EUR 1.500-3.500 | 4-7 pages, CMS, service pages, booking or contact | 3-6 weeks |
| 04 Advanced site / web app | EUR 3.500-7.500 | Login, dashboard, API, CRM, payments, chatbot | 6-12 weeks |
| 05 Custom SaaS platform | from EUR 7.500 | Scope, auth, billing, admin, deployment | After discovery |
The full breakdown of every step is on the pricing page.
Monthly work can continue after launch. Care costs EUR 100-300/mo and covers updates, monitoring, backups and small fixes. It does not cover a redesign or new features; those are quoted as their own piece of work. SEO growth costs EUR 500-800/mo for technical and on-page work, service and location pages, internal links and reporting. The SEO foundation is separate and happens once: EUR 450-750 for Search Console, analytics, indexation, technical hygiene, titles, internal links and a 3-6 month plan.
What moves the price for a Rotterdam business
Your postcode has nothing to do with it. Inside a step, the price follows the work.
- Page count, and how different the pages are. Five service pages that each explain a different job take more writing and design than five pages cut from one template. Page count also decides the step: 2-3 pages is step 02, 4-7 pages is step 03.
- The copy and the photos. If the words still need writing, this is the part that waits on you, and the schedule waits with it.
- Booking and contact. A contact form, or a link to the booking tool you already use, fits inside step 03. Taking payments online, a customer login or a connection to your CRM is step 04 work.
- Languages. Rotterdam has an English-speaking audience of its own, including students and staff at Erasmus University. A second language means every page exists twice, with its own title and description; its technical setup is an add-on at EUR 250-500, and translation is separate.
Local search in Rotterdam: districts, the river and the towns around it
For a business that customers walk into, the website and your Google Business Profile work as a pair. Map results weigh how close a business is to the person searching, and Rotterdam is big enough that close means a district, not the whole city. Someone in Kralingen looking for a physiotherapist can be shown a different list from someone in Delfshaven.
So name the district where it is true. If your shop is in Hillegersberg, say so on the contact page and in the page text where it reads naturally. The name, address and phone number on the site have to match your Business Profile exactly, and the site can carry LocalBusiness structured data so search engines read those details without guessing.
The Nieuwe Maas splits the city into north and south. If you work on both banks, a page about your work in Rotterdam-Zuid earns its place when it says something real, such as which neighbourhoods you cover and what jobs you do there. If you do not work there, leave it out.
Schiedam, Vlaardingen, Capelle aan den IJssel and Barendrecht are separate municipalities around Rotterdam. A tradesperson who serves all of them is tempted to publish one page per town with the name swapped. Google's spam policies treat that pattern as doorway pages, which is also why this page is not a copy of one we wrote for another city. Build a town page when you have something specific to put on it, and let one honest service area section cover the rest.
On the website, the SEO foundation handles indexation, titles and internal links, and location pages are part of SEO growth. Keeping the Business Profile current, with opening hours, photos and replies to reviews, is ongoing work outside the website.
How the work runs between Rotterdam and Amsterdam
A website is made on a screen, so that is where we meet by default. The first conversation is a video call. After that you get a staging link to open on your own phone and laptop, you see the real pages as they are built, and you send feedback in writing, so nobody has to travel to point at a button.
Rotterdam Centraal has direct trains to Amsterdam Centraal, so meeting in person is practical when it earns its place. A kickoff where the owner, a manager and whoever answers the phone need to agree on what the site should say is one of those moments. Walking through a booking flow with the staff who will use it every day is another. A call to confirm a colour change is not.
- A call about what the site has to do, followed by a written scope and a fixed quote.
- Content: your copy, photos, and access to the domain and any tools we connect. This is the part that waits on you.
- Design, starting with the home page and one service page.
- Build on the staging link, with your feedback rounds.
- Launch: domain, analytics, and redirects from your old site's addresses so existing links keep working.
Step 01 takes 1-2 weeks, step 02 takes 2-3 weeks, step 03 takes 3-6 weeks and step 04 takes 6-12 weeks. Step 05 gets its timeline after discovery. Those ranges assume content arrives when the schedule needs it; if it does not, the launch moves with it. How we combine design and code is on design engineering; the stack behind step 04 and step 05 is on Next.js development.
When to spend less
If your customers find you on Google Maps and book by phone or WhatsApp, start with the Business Profile. Complete every field, add real photos, keep the hours right and answer reviews. It costs nothing but your time, and a step 01 page at EUR 600-900 can follow when you need somewhere to send people beyond the map.
If you are testing an idea and do not yet know whether anyone will pay for it, use a template on a site builder. It will look like a template, and that is fine while you find out. Do not hire us yet. Come back when the idea has customers and the template is in the way.
If you might take payments one day, do not buy step 04 now. Build step 03 properly and add payments when that day arrives, as an add-on at EUR 600-1.500. And skip SEO growth until the foundation is done: monthly work on a site search engines cannot index is money spent on the wrong problem.
Questions before you get in touch
Do I need a Rotterdam agency to rank in Rotterdam?
No. Where your web studio sits has no effect on where your site appears. Your address, your Business Profile, what your pages say and which local sites link to you are what count, so judge a studio on whether it builds the site to support those.
Who owns the website when it is finished?
You own the code, the repository and the database. Hosting is agreed per project: the studio can host the site, and your quote states what was agreed for yours. Care is priced separately at EUR 100-300/mo.
Can the site be in Dutch and English?
Yes. Each language gets its own URLs, titles and descriptions, and hreflang tags tell search engines which version to show to whom. Settle first which language your customers search in, because that version has to be written best.
If you run a business in Rotterdam and want a number for your own site, send us what it needs to do.
