What a Website Costs for a Plumber or Electrician
A website for a plumber or an electrician costs EUR 600 to 900 for a single page, or EUR 900 to 1.500 for a small site of two or three pages. Those are step 01 and step 02 on our price list, and for a business that runs on call-outs and quotes, one of the two is the honest answer.
Above that line you are paying for pages, and a call-out trade does not sell through pages. Someone has water coming through a ceiling, or a consumer unit that keeps tripping. They are on a phone, working down a list of results, deciding who to ring. The site has one job in that moment, and it is not to impress anybody.
The phone number is the product
Everything else on a trade site serves one action, a thumb landing on a number. That narrows what the build has to get right.
- The number is a tap-to-call link, visible before any scrolling, on a phone held in one hand. Not an image, not text someone has to select and copy.
- It repeats: top of the page, under the services, in the footer, and in a bar that stays put as the page scrolls.
- The service area is written out in plain words, with the towns and postcodes you actually cover, so someone just outside it can tell.
- Hours are honest, including what emergency means for you. If you answer at two in the morning, say so. If you do not, say when you do.
- Registration, certification and insurance are on the page, because that is what a careful customer checks before letting a stranger into the house.
- The page loads on a weak signal in a stairwell.
A form is useful and it comes second. Nobody types with a leak running. It catches the quote that can wait until Tuesday, so ask for as little as you can: name, number, postcode, one line about the job.
Speed belongs in that list, not in a separate conversation about technology. We build these as static pages on Next.js because a page that stalls on a bad connection loses the call.
Step 01 or step 02
The difference is not quality or care. It is how many separate things you need to say, and whether you want to change them yourself.
Step 01, EUR 600 to 900. One page: services, area, proof, number, form, analytics, responsive on every screen. One to two weeks. Right when your work is variations on the same thing and you need to be found and rung.
Step 02, EUR 900 to 1.500. Two or three pages, a contact flow and a basic CMS. Two to three weeks. Right when you have separate audiences, domestic and commercial for instance, or you want to edit the site without asking anyone.
The CMS is the dividing line. If you will never touch the words again, step 01 is not a compromise, it is the correct size. If you want to add a service, change your hours over a holiday, or cover a new town, step 02 is the one that lets you.
The steps, in full
| Step | What it is | Price | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 Single-page landing | 1 page, form, analytics, responsive | EUR 600-900 | 1-2 weeks |
| 02 Mini-site | 2-3 pages, contact flow, basic CMS | EUR 900-1.500 | 2-3 weeks |
| 03 Business website | 4-7 pages, CMS, service pages, booking or contact | EUR 1.500-3.500 | 3-6 weeks |
| 04 Advanced site or web app | Login, dashboard, API, CRM, payments, chatbot | EUR 3.500-7.500 | 6-12 weeks |
When a trade business does need step 03 or 04
Step 03, EUR 1.500 to 3.500, earns its money when you have a team and the site has to carry a page per trade, a page per town, or both, with a booking or contact flow that sends the job to the right person. Four to seven pages, three to six weeks.
Step 04, EUR 3.500 to 7.500, is a different kind of build: a login, a dashboard, an API into the software you already use for jobs, a CRM, payments taken on the site. Six to twelve weeks. If you want a customer to pay a call-out deposit before you drive out, or engineers to open their day in a portal, that is where it lives. Same method as any build we do, described in design and engineering.
Being found is a separate line
Building the site and getting it in front of people are two pieces of work with two prices.
SEO foundation is EUR 450 to 750, one-off. Search Console, analytics, indexation, technical hygiene, titles, internal links, and a written plan covering the next three to six months. You pay it once and you keep what it produced.
SEO growth is EUR 500 to 800 a month and it continues: technical and on-page work, service, location and content pages, internal links and authority, monthly reporting. For a trade with a fixed radius, the foundation plus a properly filled-in Google Business Profile is a reasonable place to stop.
Care is EUR 100 to 300 a month: updates, monitoring, backups, small fixes. It is not a redesign and it is not new features.
How the build runs
A scoping call first: services, area, certifications, number. A fixed quote always follows the scoping, so the price is settled before anything gets built. Then photos, build, your review, launch.
Step 01 takes one to two weeks and step 02 takes two to three. The part that waits is you: your own photos, your registration numbers, and the final wording on your hours. Have those ready at the scoping call and the dates hold.
When to spend less, or nothing yet
- Your Google Business Profile is unclaimed or half filled in. For a call-out trade that profile does work a website cannot: it appears in the map results with a call button next to it. Claim it, fix the hours and the area, ask for reviews.
- You have no photos of your own work. A stock image of a smiling man in a clean van persuades nobody. Pictures taken on your own jobs are worth more than the difference between step 01 and step 02.
- Your diary is already full. A better site brings enquiries you have to turn down. Spend on a second van or a second pair of hands, and give the current site an hour: correct number, area and prices.
- You are about to change the name, the company structure or the area you cover. Build after, not before. Rewriting every page and listing afterwards costs more than waiting did.
And if a quote lands well above step 02, ask which part of it is a login, a dashboard, an API or a payment flow. If the answer is none of them, you are buying pages.
Questions plumbers and electricians ask
Can a single page rank?
Yes, for the searches a local trade wants, which are a service plus a place. What decides it is whether the page says plainly what you do and where, whether it is technically clean, and whether your Google Business Profile agrees with it.
Should customers be able to book a slot online?
For emergency work, no. The whole value of an emergency call is that a person picks up. For planned work like a rewire quote or a boiler service, a booking or contact flow is part of step 03, EUR 1.500 to 3.500. Taking a deposit at the moment of booking is step 04, EUR 3.500 to 7.500, because that brings payments into it.
Who owns the site when it is finished?
You do. The code, the repository and the database are yours. You can hand all three to another developer.
Do you host it?
We can host, and it is agreed per project rather than assumed. That gets decided during scoping and written into the quote.
If you know which step you are on, or you want someone to tell you it is smaller than you feared, tell us about the business and we will scope it and quote a fixed price.
